We’re pretty flattered because Inc. Magazine said we’re one of the cool kids!
Inc. Magazine, a great resource for freelancers and small businesses, recently featured The Coop in an article showcasing the Top 16 Cool Coworking spots. Our space reminded Inc. of a “hip and airy downtown Chicago loft” and admittedly, that’s the vibe we were shooting for! Inc. also mentioned that The Coop celebrates Happy Hour on Fridays, which is more commonly known around here as “Beer-O-Clock” or “Tequila-O-Clock.”
We enjoyed the article almost as much as we liked being featured in it, and we couldn’t agree more that coworking is an excellent precursor to starting a small business. Not to mention, shared spaces are a great way to meet someone who works in your field, who you’d otherwise never know if you hadn’t left the house. You know? 2011 was filled with fun and excitement as we moved from the West Loop to River North, learned new names and faces and grew within the local Chicago coworking scene.
A visit to our new location, mere steps off the Chicago Brown line stop, reveals a vibrant and thriving art community nestled just beneath the EL on Franklin Street. It is here that we’ve expanded The Coop, Chicago’s premier coworking space. Honing in on exactly what makes any shared space a success is nearly impossible. But at The Coop we contribute our continued growth to the handful of creative-minded people coworking in our space. Enthusiastically, we look forward to spending another year together.
And for those of you don’t know us yet, haven’t seen The Coop, or are curious about coworking in the city, consider yourself invited to drop by any day for a complimentary tour. A quick glance through The Coop and you’ll end up staying, or coming back, to take advantage of our free first-day trial.
Hey Coopers and potential Coopers:
We’re taking a little holiday break and closing The Coop for a few days while we get merry with our loved ones: we’re off from 12/26 until 1/2.
Monthly users will be able to come in as usual. However, the office (and therefore our phones) won’t be working. We’ll do our best to answer emails in a timely manner, but give us a couple of days to get back to you, or pretty please reach out again in January.
